Collection: Polarized Safety Glasses

Why Use Polarized Safety Glasses on the Job?

Bright sunlight is one thing. Glare bouncing off the surfaces around you is another. Polarized safety glasses are designed to reduce reflected glare, making them especially useful for outdoor jobs where sunlight can bounce off metal, concrete, pavement, water, vehicle hoods and other reflective surfaces.

For workers who spend long hours outside, reducing that glare can make bright conditions more comfortable and help maintain a clearer view of the work in front of them.

What Are the Benefits of Polarized Lenses?

The primary benefit of polarized lenses is glare reduction. When sunlight reflects off a flat or shiny surface, it can create intense horizontal glare. Polarized lenses filter much of that reflected light before it reaches your eyes.

On the job, that makes polarized safety glasses a great option for roofers, construction workers, road crews, utility workers, landscapers and others who regularly work in bright outdoor conditions.

Polarized lenses can also be particularly useful around water, vehicles, sheet metal, concrete and other surfaces where reflected sunlight can become distracting.

Polarized Protection Built for Work

Regular polarized sunglasses aren't necessarily safety glasses. Eyewear worn for impact protection on the job should meet the appropriate safety standards for the work being performed.

Edge polarized safety glasses combine glare-reducing polarized lens technology with the impact protection required of safety eyewear. That means you don't have to choose between better glare control and eye protection when working outdoors.

Edge also offers multiple polarized lens colors and technologies, allowing you to choose the combination of tint, contrast and glare reduction that works best for your environment.

Are Polarized Safety Glasses Right for Every Job?

Not always. Polarized lenses are designed primarily for bright conditions and may not be ideal for indoor or low-light environments. Polarization can also make some LCD screens and instrument displays more difficult to read at certain angles.

If your job requires frequent use of digital instrument panels or moving between very different lighting conditions, another lens may be a better choice.
