Description

The Edge Hamel delivers ANSI Z87.1+ high-impact ballistic protection in an uncompromising package. These shooting glasses drop big features at a relatively small price. From the anti-scratch coating to its permanent anti-fog technology (called Vapor Shield), the Hamel is one pair of sunglasses with an ANSI Z87.1+ ballistic rating that won’t disappoint. Are you on the lookout for a pair of shooting glasses that you’ll want to wear every day? The Edge Hamel is your solution. From its comfortable frames (made of a flexible and equally durable nylon composite) to its available G-15 lenses, the Hamel is made to protect your eyesight when most at risk–all while delivering everyday performance. The lenses block 99.9% of UVA, UVB and UVC rays, the thin temples mean comfort when wearing them with ear protection or helmets, and thermoplastic rubber (TPR) details on the nosepiece help them stay on your face when lesser glasses might slip. For shooting glasses that can pull double-duty as your new favorite pair of sunglasses, the Edge Hamel is the common-sense answer.

FAQs

What is Vapor Shield?

Vapor Shield is the name of our anti-fog technology. It inhibits fogging in hot, cold and humid conditions and, because it's infused into the lenses during manufacturing, outlasts topical anti-fog coatings.

Are These Safety Rated?

Yes. The Hamel is rated to the military protective standard (MIL-PRF 32432-A), as well as ANSI’s Z87+ high-impact safety standard and other worldwide safety standards as highlighted under the product name above.

What is TPR?
Thermoplastic rubber (TPR) is a compound that becomes tacky when exposed to moisture. It's utilized in the Hamel's nose pads to limit slipping and improve comfort.

What are G-15 Lenses?
The “G” in G-15 refers to a green-colored tint of the lens. The “15” refers to the visible light transmission (VLT) of the lens. Therefore, G-15 lenses are those that have a green tint and block 85% of visible light.

Features + Technology

Vapor Shield Anti-Fog

Our standard anti-fog technology performs in even the coldest, hottest or most humid environments. Unlike other anti-fogs, Vapor Shield is infused into the lens, ensuring a long-lasting and durable solution to stop the buildup of fog-causing water vapor.

Thin Temple Technology

Our thin temples integrate more comfortably with helmets, hats or hearing protection. By reducing bulk from the cross-section of the temples, the frames slide comfortably under other personal protective equipment or headwear.

Anti-Slip Nose Pads

Thermoplastic rubber (TPR) nose pads provide anti-slip performance, unrivaled comfort and a secure fit. Plus, TPR becomes tacky when exposed to moisture, so there’s no more worrying about losing your glasses when things get sweaty.

Terrible glasses. With terrible service

"Terrible glasses. With terrible service from the company"

Daniel B. (1/5)

Safety glasses

"Decent fit, arms are slightly too long for my size head and rub with a hard hat on. Transitioning lenses could be darker but transition fairly fast to light."

Tim T. (3/5)

Nice glasses but do not stand cleaning with water!

"I bought EDGE Hamel black matte glasses with tiger lenses in November 2024. Good glasses with good lenses. But after 6 months the inner film of both lenses started to peel off and tear. I have only used water and mild dishwasher detergent as directed. The glasses should last intact with normal use and cleaned as directed."

Nurmo P. (2/5)

Riding Safety Glasses

"I purchased the glasses to use while riding my motorcycle. The clarity of the lenses is awesome and they are very comfortable."

Uncomfortable on ears. Transition lenses

"Uncomfortable on ears. Transition lenses don't really transition. Feels cheap."

Brennen M. (5/5)

Very lightweight, very clear lens,

"Very lightweight, very clear lens, anti fog works great, and my eyballs steam up every other pair of "anti fog" eyepro I have. The thin frame makes it very comfy under hearing protection as well."

Brian B. (4/5)

Great shades!

"Awesome product!"

Gus B. (5/5)

Nice glasses but cheap feel

"Nice glasses but I wish they had a softer frame. This frame seems cheap and plastic."
